-Overview-

KWIK STUDY is an innovative learning system that makes it possible for students to learn KWIK-Key Instructional Material on any subject quickly and easily. KWIK STUDYrequires no prior knowledge of a subject and may be used by an individual or small groups. The system maximizes the active participation of each student in the learning process, and it encourages parents and/or others to participate in the learning process with the student. Most importantly, KWIK STUDY makes learning quick, easy, and so much fun that people will think it is a game.


KWIK STUDY eliminates the necessity of a teacher's preparing most of the KWIK-Key Instructional Material. The system gives the teacher maximum freedom to focus on assisting the student in understanding and applying the KWIK-Key Instructional Material. KWIK STUDY gives the student maximum freedom to focus on learning the KWIK-Key Instructional Material at his own pace without being dependent upon the teacher.
 

KWIK STUDY uses modules which contain KWIK-Key Instructional Material about one or more subjects. These modules are designed so that the teacher may modify the KWIK-Key Instructional Material to accommodate the age and/or grade level of the student(s). Each module includes the following components:

Purpose: A brief explanation of what the module is intended to accomplish
Performance Objectives: A list of specific tasks the student will be able to perform once the module is completed
KWIK-Key Instructional Material: The key information that has been determined to be essential for the student to achieve and demonstrate mastery of the subject covered in a module
Lesson Plans: A set of specific steps the teacher must follow while presenting the KWIK-Key Instructional Material contained in the module
KWIK Facts: The document that contains all of the KWIK-Key Instructional Material the student is expected to master
KWIK-Key-Facts: The KWIK-Key Instructional Material contained in the KWIK Facts that the student should recognize is of key importance
KWIK-Key-Verse: The Bible verse or verses contained in the KWIK Facts about which the student is expected to know what it says, what it means, and how it may be applied
KWIK Prehension Discussion Technique: The procedure the student uses to achieve and demonstrate mastery of the KWIK-Key Instructional Material contained in the KWIK Facts by answering these questions: 1) What does the fact or verse say?; 2) What does the fact or verse mean?; and 3) How may the fact or verse be applied?
KWIK Assessment: The document that contains questions about the KWIK-Key Instructional Material included in the KWIK Facts; it is intended to be used by the student to study at home in preparation for the lesson that will be presented in the next class session
KWIK View: The document that contains questions about the Instructional Material presented to the youth. In most instances, the Instructional Material is the same material presented to the adults; however, in certain instances, the material may be modified to be more suitable for youth
KWIK Brief: The form that requires the student to identify KWIK-Key-Facts or KWIK-Key-Verses contained in the KWIKFacts and to answer the following questions about each: 1) What does the fact or verse say?; 2) What does the fact or verse mean?; and 3) How may the fact or verse be applied?
KWIK-E-KWIZ Game: The game that allows the student to score points by answering questions about theKWIK-Key Instructional Material presented in the KWIK Facts.
KWIK-E-KWIZ Challenge: The contest in which teams compete against each other by playing the KWIK-E-KWIZ game
Chips: The chips the players use to select questions when playing the KWIK-E-KWIZgame
Bonus Chips: The two Chips marked Bonus which when selected entitles the player to have five chances to answer five questions whether or not any of the five is answered correctly
KWIKScore: The score sheet that is used to record the players' scores when the KWIK-E-KWIZ game is played
Student Assessment: The form the student uses to express his assessment of the components of the KWIK STUDY™ System, the overall lesson, and the teacher. It is intended to provide the teacher with feedback from the student
Pre/Post Assessment: An assessment the student is required to take before a module is completed and after a module has been completed. Its purpose is to determine how much of the KWIK-Key Instructional Material presented in the module the student knows before and after. Each student is expected to score at least 80 on the Post Assessment
